Professional Activity through the Prism of Emotional Intelligence
Abstract
The article presents the results of a theoretical study on the functional interconnections between emotional intelligence and the structural components of professional activity. The relevance of the study is determined by the transformation of the contemporary labor market, which is characterized by increasing demands on professional competence, social and communicative skills, and the ability to effectively regulate emotional states in professional contexts. Emotional intelligence is considered an integral psychological resource that ensures the effectiveness of professional self-determination, the formation of a professional self-concept, and the development of intrinsic motivation for professional activity. The study identifies and systematizes key determinants of the interaction between emotional intelligence and professional activity, including motivational and value orientations, socio-communicative competence (soft skills), and psychological readiness for work. It is demonstrated that reflection acts as a mediator in the process of internalizing professional requirements, enabling the transformation of external stimuli into stable intrinsic motivation. Particular attention is paid to the preventive role of emotional intelligence in overcoming professional destructions, such as emotional burnout and professional rigidity. The strategic importance of emotional resilience as a resource for professional adaptation to changing conditions of the modern labor market and evolving professional environments is substantiated.
