NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL APPROACH IN THE WORK OF A PSYCHOREABILITHOLOGY
Abstract
At the current stage, neuropsychology has become a key field that pushes the boundaries of our understanding of the relationships between brain activity and mental phenomena. It opens new horizons in the understanding of mental health disorders and the possibilities of their rehabilitation, which is becoming very relevant today. This is especially important in the context of the role of a psychorehabilitator, who works on the restoration of mental health and the adaptation of persons with various neurological and mental problems to the conditions of everyday life.
If we consider neuropsychological studies, they focus on different parts and functions of the brain. For example, analysis of the functions of the frontal lobe, which is responsible for planning and decision-making, provides information about the client's ability to control his behavior, which psychologists use to study the influence of different parts of the brain on cognitive functions (memory, attention, decision-making) and identify potential changes or abnormalities in brain structure and function that can affect daily life.
The examination process usually begins with an interview during which the symptoms and their impact on daily life are clarified. Then tests are conducted to assess cognitive functions. Specialists analyze the received data, individualize the work of the client's brain and, if necessary, create an effective rehabilitation program, which depends on the diagnostic skills of the psychologist himself (the ability to correctly identify and describe the structure of the defect).
In this article, we will substantiate the importance of the neuropsychological approach in the work of a psychorehabilitator, its possibilities and advantages over other approaches. Let's consider the conceptual framework of this approach and practical applications that allow optimizing the rehabilitation process and improving the quality of life of people with various mental and neurological conditions. Research into this problem can become important for specialists in the field of psychology, medicine and social work, as well as for everyone who is interested in issues of mental health and rehabilitation of the individual.
