Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

1. General Publication Requirements

The journal considers for publication original scholarly manuscripts that have not been previously published and are not under consideration by any other journal or publisher.

Submission of a manuscript constitutes confirmation that all listed authors have approved its content and agree to its submission. Authors confirm that their contribution is genuine and that all contributors have been appropriately acknowledged.

The journal promotes inter-institutional and international research collaboration.

2. Criteria for Article Acceptance

The manuscript must:

  • present the results of original research or provide a substantive theoretical contribution;
    • fall within the scope and thematic focus of the journal;
    • clearly define its objectives, methodology, and conclusions;
    • comply with internationally recognized standards of academic integrity.

All submissions are subject to a double-blind peer review process.

3. Manuscript Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.docx).

Submission structure:

  1. Article title (Ukrainian and English)
  2. JEL classification code (for economics articles)
  3. Author information (full name, academic degree, affiliation, country, ORCID — in Ukrainian and English)
  4. Abstract (Ukrainian and English)
  5. Keywords (Ukrainian and English)
  6. Main text
  7. List of references
  8. References (in English)
  9. Acknowledgments (if applicable)
  10. Declarations (conflict of interest, AI use, funding, etc., if applicable)

4. Title, Abstract, and Keywords

The title must not exceed 115 characters (10–15 words) and should avoid abbreviations.

The abstract (up to 1800 characters) must be provided as a single paragraph in both Ukrainian and English.

Recommended structure:

  • research context;
    • relevance and rationale of the study;
    • methodology;
    • principal findings;
    • scientific novelty and significance.

Keywords must consist of 3–6 terms separated by semicolons and should not duplicate the title.

5. Article Structure

Recommended length: 15,000–40,000 characters including spaces (excluding references).

Mandatory structure for empirical articles:

  • Introduction
    • Methods and Materials
    • Results
    • Discussion
    • Conclusions

For review and methodological articles, the structure may be adapted in accordance with the specific nature of the research.

The Methods section must provide sufficient detail to ensure the reproducibility of the study.

6. References

References must be formatted in accordance with the APA citation style.

In-text citations must appear in parentheses.

The References list must be provided in English (translation rather than transliteration).

Recommended number of sources:

  • 25–45 for empirical articles
    • 60–100 for review articles
    • 30–60 for methodological articles

The editorial board encourages the citation of peer-reviewed publications indexed in Scopus and Web of Science.

Excessive self-citation is not acceptable.

7. Tables and Figures

Tables must be submitted in editable text format (not as images).

Figures and graphical materials must be provided as separate files (.png, .jpg, .pdf).

8. Use of AI Tools

If generative AI or AI-assisted technologies were used in the preparation of the manuscript, authors must include an appropriate declaration before the reference list.

AI tools may not be listed as authors or co-authors.

9. Acknowledgments

Acknowledgments must be concise and limited to substantive contributions.

Acknowledgment of anonymous reviewers is not permitted.

10. Conflict of Interest

Authors are required to disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that may influence the research or its interpretation.

11. Publication Fee

An organizational publication fee is payable only after the manuscript has been formally accepted for publication.

Editorial decisions are made independently of any publication fee.

12. Peer Review

All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process.

Within this process:

  • reviewers remain anonymous to authors;
    • authors remain anonymous to reviewers;
    • editorial decisions are based solely on scientific quality, originality, relevance, and compliance with the journal’s scope.

Editors who are authors or co-authors of a submitted manuscript do not participate in its review or in the editorial decision-making process in order to avoid conflicts of interest.

In such cases, the manuscript is handled by an independent member of the editorial board.

13. Confidentiality

Personal data provided by authors are used exclusively for editorial and publishing purposes and are not disclosed to third parties.

The authors pay the organizational expenses of the editorial board after the article is accepted for publication. Employees and students of the Kyiv Institute of Business and Technology are published free of charge.
